Whether painting or photographing i strongly recommend using Duane as a subject.
This blog started as a photo-a-day blog in 2006, October 2009 it become an official WHAT-NOT blog and/or random thoughts from a Filmmaker blog.
Oaxaca, Mexico is an amazing town in the heart of Mexico south of Mexico City. We were there for Nacho Libre. The town had a lot of art going on. It was also a great place to spend the ''Day of the Dead'' (El Día de los Muertos). Anyway, I bought this small piece from a street / stencil artist that had some of his work on boards. The artist had his stuff set up in the gallery of Rene Almanza more about Rene soon.
We are lucky enough to a have a few pieces of original artwork around the house, here is piece by Cassandra Barney that is hanging in our living room.

I have always loved this piece and I am getting more interested in the artist these days, does anybody have any favorite biographies on the man?
I am really loving messy art or abstract art these day. I am working on doing a large piece, here is some ideas I am playing around with in my sketchbook. PEACE!
A small piece I did of John Beeson. He use to do tons of paintings and sell them in random parking lots.
check out our new art group . Here is a photo of me by Ethan, it is a snap of my sketchbook open to a page of C's school work.
Tonight we officially started our art group, here is my poster for the event. Oh yeah, it was epic fun just what I needed.
I love the art work on this T-shirt. It is from the Velo Shop in Portland, OR. (I do not know who the artist is, but I would like to know)

Yesterday I had a guest artist in the office, Big C. We did some drawing, played with cars, watched a William Wegmen video, watched Nacho Libre, and he did some fine art photography. You can tell by the beautiful composition that I have smashed the screen of my camera, you only see the lower right part of the screen. Big C is my son and he is 5 years old, he rules.
This was one of my favorite moments at the last Olympics in Beijing. This poster was in the NYC subway. I think it is brilliant.

This one of my favorite photos of Noelle at Lake Powell. Lake Powell has become an important place for our family to relax. We bought a 30 year old cruiser boat and it changed everything. Lot of swimming, hiking, relaxing, art projects, make shift concerts and just good chill time with the kids. (photo: Noelle catching up on some sewing)
