Jose Parla

Jose Parla: The Concord Project from inkblot media on Vimeo.

Jose Parla is an artist that I have been following for a while. I like the world he has made for himself through art- a street artist and now doing art in a studio and big commission work. This is a nice video and the art is very cool. (I had nothing to do with this video, I am just inspired by it) ***got the link from the brilliant Andy Jenkins. top photo by allen aka.

I filmed Kevin years ago, I love his pots and even more I love his ideas. He is one deep thinking peaceful soul. Check more of his stuff here.

O.K. many years ago I did this film about potter Joe Bennion, it launched my documentary career really and last night someone mentioned it again, so I thought I would post this short clip. I am still proud of this "student" film and I still learn from it.

Savion Glover last night...

Last night took my daughters to see Savion Glover tap. Good show, loud show, lots of energy and talent. It is so good to see live art. I loved that at the end he tapped as he sang "You've got a Friend" the song written by Carole King and made famous by James Taylor.

Noelle hung the 3 original pieces (left to right: Rene Almanza from Oaxaca, Mexico, Ximitrius also from Oaxaca I think, and a bicycle painting from New York Artist Taliah Lempert) and I hung a few old photos from our "Nothing to Say" art show a few years ago.

Art Group

I use to have an art group that didn't work out in the end. I got the idea from one of Doug Snow's buddies that talked at Doug's funeral. Now that I am in Midway I would love to start one here. This is a little sketchbook mess around from one of those sessions.
